Pan Seared Flat Iron
Ingredients
2 Reminisce Angus Beef flat iron steaks (about 8 ounces each)
Salt and black pepper to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
Fresh herbs (rosemary or thyme) for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Bring to Room Temperature
Take the flat iron steaks out of the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. This ensures even cooking.
Season the Steaks
Pat the steaks dry with paper towels.
Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.
Preheat the Pan
Preheat a heavy skillet or cast-iron pan over medium-high heat.
Sear the Steaks
Add olive oil to the hot pan. Place the flat iron steaks in the pan and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Adjust the cooking time based on your preferred doneness.
Add Garlic and Butter
In the last minute of cooking, add minced garlic and unsalted butter to the pan.
Tilt the pan and spoon the melted butter over the steaks, allowing the garlic to infuse its flavor.
Rest and Garnish
Remove the steaks from the pan and let them rest for a few minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, keeping the steaks juicy.
Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
Slice and Serve
Slice the flat iron steaks against the grain into thin strips.
Serve the pan-seared flat iron steak with your favorite side dishes, such as roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a crisp salad. This method preserves the tenderness and rich flavor of the flat iron steak. Enjoy your delicious meal!
